Authentic Japanese Home Cooking Classes in Zurich

Learn Real Japanese Home Cooking in English- Hands on Classes with a Native Japanese Teacher in Zurich.
Welcome! I grew up in Tokyo and have been living in Zurich, Switzerland, for more than 25 years. With this experience, I would like to offer a cooking course that will be interesting and enjoyable not only for those who are interested in Japanese cuisine, but also for those who are looking for delicious, locally sourced foods that are similar to those they eat in Japan on a daily basis.
One of the ideas of this cooking class is to decide the menu together with you according to your own interests! This is unlike most Japanese cooking classes with fixed menus!
If you request the special menu, please contact us at least one month in advance.

Basic Class


In this class, you will learn how to make “ichijyu-sansai” 一汁三菜, which  means one soup and three dishes. After the workshop you’ll be able to make them yourself in your own kitchen whenever you want!

Menu:

  • Rice or Onigiri (rice balls)
  • Miso soup (made from dashi stock)
  • Teriyaki salmon or chicken or tofu
  • Green beans with sesame sauce
  • More vegetable dishes

⚠️Classes will be held with a minimum of two participants.


Special Class,  Okonomiyaki, Karaage, etc.

A class for those who want to easily recreate that “Wow!” moment they experienced eating in Japan/at Japanese restaurant at home.

Ramen & Gyoza Class

In this class, you will learn how to prepare delicious Miso-ramen and gyoza at home without any hassle!

  • Miso Ramen (made from dashi stock)
  • Toppings for Ramen (Ajitsuke Tamago, meat, and vegetables)
  • Gyoza (Beef/Pork)

Japanese TOFU Home Cooking Class

In this class, you will learn more about how to prepare not only Japanese Tofu dishes but also Japanese vegetarian dishes.

  • The course lasts approximately 4 hours, including mealtimes.
  • Please let us know if you have any food preferences or allergies, in advance of the class.
  • For two or three participants registering and attending together, the fee is CHF 200.- per person. *For details regarding private classes, please enquire directly.
